![]() There are not supposed to be Walking Turtles in Castle - they only appear in one level of Carrotus. This screenshot preview (couldn't find a full sized version) is pretty similar to the finished Castle, with a few key differences. There is still no score, and Jazz's blaster is evidently powered up, despite the only Blaster powerup normally being in Diamondus. the background isn't purple here, but why would the Queen be in the first level?) Here we see Jazz "fighting" the Queen, who is in a completely different battle arena. On a side note, the second picture has the Pre-Beta Castle Night palette, so download it if you're curious.Ĭastle Night has lost its purple and has gone orange, though the orange is much brighter than that of the final version. In other news, you'll see an early attempt to apply different resolutions to JJ2 (some weird resizing), and an early version of the information given when you press F9 twice. This also explains why the background is purple in the finished version of Castle Night, despite the dark orange foreground blocks. Dungeon Dilemma (day) was orange, Knight Cap (night) was purple. Taken at about the same time in development, these two pictures explain the purple castle problem. I don't think this area of the level appears in the final game anywhere, but I could be wrong. For one, the ammo icon is the red toaster picture, but the ammo is powered up - I guess separate icons hadn't yet been implemented. Apparently, at this stage of development, there was no score.Īnother scoreless purple castle picture, but with a few differences. Other things to note are the Blaster icon (bullet instead of Fastfire) and the gem, which is a typical beta style gem. Curiously, in the final version, there were no lizards in Castle. Probably overshadowed in time by more popular singles of the band, Whatsername is the smash hit single that brought a conclusion to the now legendary album American Idiot. He conceived the tune thinking the band wouldn’t like it however, it became the biggest hit of the summer of 94 debuting in Billboard’s Top 30 chart list. Reportedly, he came up with almost every detail in his head and whistled it into a recording. You can approach this 90s hit as an arpeggio and composition challenge, albeit these were the key traits that led to its success during the grunge height of the grunge era.Ĭornell originally started writing the song as he was driving home at 4 am. ![]() The song is built around an arpeggio of Gsus4, Gm chord progression followed by an F5 and E5, leaving an air of suspense and an “open door” feeling given its inflicted dissonance. The only technical specification you need to know is its extra sharp tuning which leads yet to another masterclass in what a catchy melodic line can achieve with mild arrangements and a punchy chorus. Presumably recorded to inspire fear and an overwhelming sense of eariness, Soundgarden’s staple hit single in D# tuning was pitch-shifted sharp 2/3rds of a semitone through an analog process with 432hZ instead of 440hz. It became one of the hottest hits of the summer of 2000 as it topped the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks at #2, and it remained in constant airplay on MTV for over a year. Between rhythmical shifts and a melodic and melancholic starting riff, Adam’s Song has a lot more to offer other than its initial and simplistic first glance.Īdam’s song is one of the defining tunes at the turn of the century, as it harnessed commercial and underground success since its release. This tune is an ode to simplicity for all those pop and skate punk rockers out there, it taps into the evocative and emotional exploits of drop D, and not everything is about the heaviness of it. The song came to be when guitarist Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus recalled the internal plight and loneliness that entails a touring lifestyle and having no one to come home to. Simple, emotional, and an all-around hymn ever since its controversial release and success in the year 2000. There are plenty of exciting techniques to practice in this one, including muted hammer-ons during the riff, timed delays while playing the bridge, and power chord shapes that drive this gem. So, once you’ve got the main riff and some nuances down, you’ll breezily float through the rest.īefore learning this track, tune the guitar to drop D, which goes from low to high- D A D G B E. But don’t let that scare you away, for “Schism” also happens to be one of their most repetitive tracks. It’s fairly complex, packed with challenging rhythm, intricacies, and unusual time signatures. “Schism” from Tool’s third album, Lateralus, is the perfect pick for guitar players looking to push the envelope. The one we shall be talking about is the song that fetched the band a Grammy for Best Metal Performance. Practically, their entire discography features him playing a dropped-D tuned guitar. ![]() It’s no secret that Adam Jones of the Progressive rock band Tool has a particular affinity for drop D tuning. ![]() If I play Cultris, I end up with roughly 1.4 keys per piece for my left hand (rotation and harddrop) and also 1.4 for my right hand (movements). I use vertical spawning directions, and I need about 2.8 keys per piece where just 0.4 come from rotations. If your setup is balanced also depends on how you play. I use a similar setup like 1000fire (I use either hold or 180 rotate, but not both at the same time). On the other hand, 116 movements is perfect. 77 rotations is more than you would expect to have with 180 rotation. Here some stats from Microbizz' 20.55 seconds run: This run would have been 77 rotations and 116 movements (DAS included) with 2 step finesse. NullpoMino League edition has the ability to log some stats, perhaps you can calculate the key distributions from that. Most times, you have to move your piece at least once and often twice. But if you consider me replaying the Microblizz run (no 180° rotate), it would have been 185 keys for my left hand (77 rotations, 5 holds, 103 harddrops) in contrast to 116 keys for my right hand - pretty much unbalanced.ġ movement key per piece is a bit understatement. ![]() 77 rotations is more than you would expect to have with 180° rotation. I'd also recommend to use commands you need the most (such as right/left and hard drop) shoud be on middle/index or ring fingers -ġ movement key per piece is a bit understatement. Also id try to avoid using the thumb and pinkie, since these are fingers u dont use often, therefor they are slower. the less you have to move you fingers the faster ull get. I dont have to lift my finger (keyboard is totally flat) and the up/down key are together the sme size as right arrow, so i actually dont really have to move my finger im not really fast with it yet, but its very comfortable, because my hands are not close together and the are not the same high (which i find more comfortable) i think what keys you are using depends alot on your keyboard and i think it should be comfortable for you, beside that it doesnt matter. I think my middle finger is faster in switching and pinkie/thumb pressing. ![]() ![]() I got some stuff from here: left hand w=ccw a=cw s=180 d= hold right hand left arrow= left right arrow= right up arrow= soft drop down arrow= hard drop I tried to use my left hand similiar to a mmorpg's, since i played alot of them (wow, tera, aion are the biggest) the right hand i got from blink, left/right is sure but i kind of like the hard/soft drop setting. If been trying to improve my keys settings too, since i was using tf default from beginning( got rank 19 at least) so that is what im trying to learn now. ![]() i always broil my lamb chops and love the crispy outside and the tender texture inside that broiling imparts to the chops. Sorry but i have to give my first no fork rating. I will be making it quite often and can't wait to tell the ladies at my next diet meeting! The result was the best tasting, tenderest and juciest lamb chops I have ever had! With a baked potato and green beans, it was an easy and quick recipe to make. I followed the recipe, but just cut down on amounts for the two chops. I had 1/2 lb of two lamb loin chops and trimmed off the fat. This recipe interested me because I was cooking such a small piece of lamb that I didn't want to broil or grill and have to clean up the mess for such a small dinner. I am on a diet and so usually cook a separate meal for myself apart from my family's. Put a splash of fresh lemon juice and a bit of white wine in pan to deglaze and poured over chops. Lamb chops have been a staple for of life and this is the worst recipe I have ever encountered.ĭelicioso! Made as recommended, but while tenting the finished chops I added a few tbsp of pint noir, deglazed the pan, and then tossed in a couple of cups of pea shoots and baby bok choy and stir fried for a couple of minutes. Sorry but I will never look at this recipe again. Even after two and half hours of marinating the flavor were completely disjointed. The spices/herbs completely took away the flavor of the lamb. My husband loves when I make these for him! There is no smell of old sheep's meat and it probably helped with your marinade. We hadn't eaten lamb for years but after trying lamb's kroon in a Dalmatian restaurant I wanted to eat the same at home. ![]() Broiling leaves my chops a nice crisp and juicy piece of meat that tastes like lamb. I'll return to broiling though for my lamb chops. I frequently use the stove top to pan cook my meats with great results. It's been more than an hour now since dinner and everyone agrees the spice taste has lingered and some expensive meat cuts have gone to waste. I couldn't taste the lamb, just rosemary and garlic. I carefully followed the indegriates and recipe. Once again this recipe completely covered the flavor of the star the Lamb Chop. We served it with some basmati rice and thinly sliced tiny zucchini and yellow squash, sautéed with thin-sliced shallot, butter, EVOO, and dill, and homemade garlic bread. Good thing we weren't at an upscale restaurant or occasion where that would be gauche! I honestly don't know how to get all the meat from this kind of chops without picking up the bone to gnaw on, but that doesn't bother me a bit. Since they were so thick I timed 4 minutes per side, and they were just perfect. I had bad luck broiling lamb the other week and setting off the smoke detector, so decided sautéing would be much easier, and it was. We have a lot of chocolate mint in the herb garden, but the hint of chocolate in the mint seemed like it'd be weird. We had mint jelly, but I like mint sauce better. I think my father also used to add a squeeze of lemon to the rub or marinade, and he always made fresh mint sauce. The rosemary and garlic didn't overpower the lamb at all - it was perfect. I made this with five thick grass-fed Australian Lamb Loin Chops, 3 big garlic cloves, a splash of EVOO, pinch of coarse salt, and the minced leaves from two fresh rosemary sprigs. They were absolutely delicious (served with basmati rice and brussel sprouts) and everyone enjoyed! Was looking for a quick recipe for company. I can taste the lamb and I like it with herbs. I looked up four different recipes all use Thyme or Rosemary herbs. Anyway, these were perfect.įor those comments complaining about not being able to taste the lamb, I think the people complaining about the overwhelming rosemary flavor must have used dried rosemary and maybe didn't get the quantity right? The recipe calls for way less dried than fresh rosemary. Will definitely make them this way again. We were lamenting that we didn't make twice as many chops. We made them exactly as written, using fresh rosemary, and they were so good. Sunflower oil keeps the chocolate cake moist, you can also use light olive oil, vegetable oil, or rapeseed oil.ĭutch-processed cocoa powder gives the chocolate cake a deep intense flavor. From my experience, soy milk works best for creating buttermilk, but you can absolutely use another plant-based milk such as almond milk or oat milk depending on your dietary preferences. Non-dairy milk is mixed with apple cider vinegar which creates a vegan buttermilk substitute. For a kid-friendly version, try extra cherry juice or apple juice. You can also use sweeter cherry brandy, regular brandy, or Amaretto here. Kirsch is a clear, cherry-flavored liquor.

With Shurtape, all that is necessary to remove the film from the back of the tape is to snag near a corner with a knife and lift the film. I found a roll of double-stick tape at a discount store (kinda like a dollar store but larger) that looks a lot like Shurtape, but with one very important difference. Also, fabric is resilient and can withstand catches without breaking the bond. The adhesive is very sticky, especially if the taped joint is compressed for a few minutes. The fact that it is fabric means that the tape itself is somewhat compressable which means that it can more readily conform to the irregular surfaces of the glue block and workpiece. Shurtape is a fabric tape with a removable blue film to protect the adhesive on the back side of the tape. Ryan Gosling, your former co-star on “The Notebook,” seemed concerned for Ronald’s newfound fame. Margot Robbie recently mentioned she was a fan. So many of your acting peers are fans of the show. Can I do that again?” But also, there’s a very liberating, fun part of that whole thing too, which is, it felt like theater. On one side, it’s terrifying because you don’t have the in-room, live support that you normally do from a director or whomever. And you’re tasked with: I’ve got to make this entertaining, make this funny. It’s terrifying because you’re kind of in a pressure cooker for five, six hours a day to make sure you keep the believability for Ronald, that this world is in fact real. How terrifying is it as an actor when you know you’re never gonna hear, “OK, cut! Let’s do this again.” But a real safety net was those scripts, having the comedic beats that were all written out to push. And so it was a real marriage between all of us in the room and having to be nimble and adaptive to Ronald. I wouldn’t have been able to lead as far as I did without that platform. When I was reading them, just watching or reading events unfold, and then it just set off like it was a creative domino effect in my mind - of what I could say, what I could do. There was brilliantly written, very, very funny, seven episodes of circumstantial screen direction that had me howling with laughter. The writers are unsung heroes on this show. I wouldn’t have been able to go out there without an architecture or a plan and do what I did on this show. I owe every line that I came up with on my own to those scripts. How did that change how you prepared or interacted with the script? The scripts were largely screen direction and circumstantial. There’s this misconception that it’s all improv, but there’s a lot of crafting and anticipating what could happen next. And, hopefully, there will be a lot more to come. I feel proud to be part of the maiden voyage for this new platform. There’s evidence now that people aren’t as opposed to watching ad-based streaming as they thought. Another facet to this whole experience was a big question mark: Are people going to tune in to this platform to watch the show? And it’s ad-based. Not an easy feat when there’s so much content and it’s hard to break through.įreevee’s over the moon, and we all are for them. That was great, to be able to set the stage with the real James Marsden for a bit and be a nice guy, and then let the character make its way to the end. But, yes, he was a separate human being, just with my name on his juror badge. ![]() I’m used to going into shows with scripts and rehearsals and lighting and sets and “Action!” and “Cut!” This is completely different. We all know that this show is really unusual, different, original, hybrid-type of show that no one’s really seen before. It’s very, very surreal, to the degree where I can’t really get my head around. Is it weird to be nominated for playing a heightened version of yourself? Or does it give you validation that you really made him a character? You’ve given some great performances in your career, but your turn as James Marsden in “Jury Duty” is arguably one of your finest. We got to hug each other over the phone and congratulate each other. And at the tail end of our quick conversation, Christina Applegate’s face popped up on my phone, calling me from Holland.
